Gossip hurts everyone!!

Another blog...here we go. Blogging should be fun not a chore, yet many of us have a difficult time deciding what to write about. This includes me! So I thought about my day and decided that something that happened today was worth talking about. First off, it involves our "extra" member in our class. Yup, you can tell him that I am writing about him. Anyway...I asked him a question today about another student and I was quickly quieted with his response. Do you remember? He told me he was going to talk with the student and only the student about the incident. Wow!! That was a fantastic answer and I really felt a bit small for even asking him in the first place. So Kudos to George for stopping the gossip mill. Thank you George for putting me in my place as I tried to get some juicy gossip. That was wrong of me to talk about another student, especially in front of the entire class.

We work/attend a very small school where everyone knows everyone. Or at least they think they know. Gossip and drama are a given at Sand Creek. We should learn from Wednesday's conversation and put a stop to all this gossip. It truly isn't healthy and most of the time is wrong. What do you think? In your answer to my blog today, talk about gossiping and how George handled this situation. How can Sand Creek cut back on all of the gossip? Have you ever played that game where you whisper something into someone's ear and then they whisper it into someone's ear....until several people have heard the whisper? Then the last person says what they heard and it never is what was originally said. A very fun game! Well, that is what happens with gossip. It may start out true, but eventually ends up exaggerated!!

In your blog today, tell me something interesting that happened to you this week. Did you hear something interesting? Did you do something interesting? Also, please comment on two other blogs. The catch here is you must comment on someone's blog different from before. I want everyone to get comments! Have a great day!!

You couldn't be more right Mrs. Chambers, gossip is horrible. But never the less, it happens. I think George did a great job handling it. If we had more people in the school handle it like that, our gossip level would be down. I don't ever see gossip being lowered in Sand Creek, because it is such a small school, and everyone wants to know everyone elses business.

I think gossip is really dumb. It gives people an exaggerative story that is never true. People just keep on talking and talking then the story becomes ridiculous. The way George handled it was good so the silly stories didn't start. A way that Sand Creek could handle gossip better is to only talk to the person that the situation occured with or to not talk about it at all!

I really think gossip is just what our school does. I don't even believe half of the stuff that I hear in the halls. I don't think that we can cut back on gossip because some of the things people talk about, that is what they heard so they think its true. It's really not a big deal to me and if someone tells you something just go to the person it is about and ask them if you want the real answer.

I think that gossip is lame! I hate when people talk about something that they dont know the full story about. The way George handled it was verry good.

I think that gossip is stupid! I hate when people talk about other people like they are so much better then everyone else. I'll admit, I've played my role in gossip in both hearing and telling. Lately though, I'm trying to step away from it because it's unnecessary and gets people hurt. I think George handled the situation very nicely, and while I did not understand what conversation you were talking about at first, he refreshed my memory and it made sense. :)

I think your absolutly right Chamdawg! Gossip is horrible in this school, and its because everyone knows everyone and everyone knows everyones business. If you dont im sure you will hear the new story of the day before the end of the school day.

I think gossip is stared accidentally at Sand Creek all the time. This is caused by people telling other people stuff that is none of their business or stuff that they don't even know the truth about. It is also caused because of people not listening to what people tell them. They hear what they want to hear and then they go and tell somebody else who does the same thing and then they do it also. The only way to stop gossip is to not talk about something you know nothing about. George did the right thing when he didn't answer but that is just the kind of person George is. You will never see George starting a rumor about someone because he doesn't say stuff that he don't know and he don't tell stuff to everyone he does know.

Gossip is a way to cure ones curiosity quickly but not a very effective tool. When you ask someone not involved their veiw may either be skewed or they just might not have enough information. Its not good for anyone but life would be boring with out it.

I know its been a while since i've been on here Mrs. Chambers but i really want to get back into blogging so just thought i'd say hey! =] But as for gossip that continues to hurt my life to this day. So sorry to all you high schoolers but gossip doesn't stop after high school, if anything it gets worse. I've had some really mean and negative things said about me, but in the end its all with how you deal with it.
