So, this Friday is Halloween. I am not a fan of this event (it really isn't a holiday). But every year it comes around. My loathing of this day comes, I suspect, from my experiences as a youth. Not the greatest as I remember. I really only remember the bad times I had trick-or-treating. There are no memories of the "good times." It also has a lot to do with individuals that go trick-or-treating that are WAY too old. My kids only went out until the fifth grade. I know you all will call me a "meany", but I really don't care. But really, does that kid in a stroller really need a piece of chocolate? And those that are older...well are just too old. Then add to the mix that in my neighborhood they bring the kids in by the car loads from who knows where. I have always run out of candy after the first hour and that is having seen over a hundred individuals. CRAZY!!
My question to you is, what is your favorite Halloween memory? Also, when is it too old to go trick-or-treating? When should you start trick-or-treating? I mean you are going to strangers' houses and asking for something. Weren't we taught to avoid strangers??? Would you rather have a fantastic Halloween party or go trick-or-treating. I am up for the party! Have a great week!!

I dont think you are ever to old to go trick-or-treating..and Halloween is a holiday! Its my favorite. I remember going to my Grandparents house and they would get so excited i was there and take tons of pictures. Trick-or-treating if fun, I think thats why people do it.
I would honestly rather just have a party. But I don't think you are ever to old to get some sweet-sugary-goodness into your tummy! I don't really have a memory of Halloween that is the best. I just have a lot of ok memories.
I think you can go trick-or-treating at any age you want.. everyone likes candy exspecially when it is free. I like halloween because of all the haunted houses and sweet costumes.
I think trick-or-treating is semi retarted! First off there is a lot of exercise that you have to do walking from house to house, and im just not up for that. I would rather have a fantastic party.
I think that you should start trick-or-treating when you're about three and stop when you're about twenty. Twenty is the perfect age to stop trick or treating. I don't think it's creepy at all.
You are definately never to old to go trick-or-treating. But this year I'm not going. I don't like going if I don't have a little cousin or someone to go with me.
This isn't exactly a good memory but I laugh at it now. One Halloween I was trick-or-treating downtown adrian and this guy had on a scream mask. Well all of a sudden as soon as I looked at it, the mask started bleeding. I screamed and ran away. lol
I think as long as you have an adult with you any age is ok. I would rather go to a party myself too. But I still love Halloween!
Well for starters, Halloween IS a holiday, i dont know who told you it wasnt. You're sorly mistaken. You might want to read up on the history of halloween, before you say that. Second, your never too old to go trick-or-treating, ITS FREE CANDY!!!! duhh why wouldnt you go, i think you should let ur kids go untill there 90 if they want.
The best halloween memory was prolly when me and ashley were uncle fester and adolfis, we had old men masks, and dressed like hobos and pushed around a cart, to go trick or treating, prolly one of the best halloweens so far.
I always go way out, i still dress up, usually im something scary, like a zombie. My moms really into halloween too, she loves it, so our house is always way decorated. Its probably my favorite HOLIDAY, ever. and i think we should get school off for it.
AHHHH mrs chambers, your crazy.
Halloween is the most fantabulious day of the year! its a day about being whatever you want to be, and who cares if its a witch or a doctor, a lion, or a star wars character.
its a day for creativity, because you never see the exact same halloween costume, EVER--they're like snowflakes.
its never too old to go trick-or-treating, i think adults should still go, ITS FREE CANDY, how can you go wrong? [well aside from child molesters trying to drug you, but thats why you always check your candy!]
the thing i hate most about halloween, would have to be popcorn balls, theres no CANDY in a popcorn ball. If i go trick or treating this year, and i get a popcorn ball, i'm going to wip it at someone's face.
GO TRICK-OR-TREATING.
every year we go to my aunts house and eat chilli and go trick-or-treating. I think trick-or-treating is fun for everyone no one is ever to old to be going trick-or-treating I think. I dont really know what I would rather have probly a party since I dont go trick-or-treating any more.
Well i can only remember a couple of memories but not when i was a little kid...Idk if you can ever be to old as long as you have a good costume. I have one memory when me and a couple of buddies (hooker, and MF Hauk) were in the airport section kind of stealing candy when we got the chance...kinda funny really. So how about that party? Good choice Chambers Trick or Treating is definatly overated when you could have a party!!
The only time i remember going trick or treating is the time when my cousins came from colorado to visit and it was on halloween. I think when your past highschool you should not go trick or treating but if you still in highschool people treat you like a kid anyways when your in highschool and i would rather have a party then going trick or treating.
I really believe that you are never to old to dress up in costumes and go around the neighborhood but Halloween is a holiday. My memory was when i was about six and I got two and a half large pillowcases full of candy but other than that that night was kinda sad because I couldn't eat all of it intime so alot of it got wasted.
Well personally i would just like to party down with friends and just have a good time with them. There is no age limit on trick-or-treating and i don't have any memories of halloween because i never went trick-or-treating much because we live out in the middle of nowhere and we just never made the drive.
You should start trick-or-treating when your parents are willing to take you, then once you are old enough not to want your parents supervision on halloween night while you are trick-or-treating then you are too old to trick-or-treat. I've never really like halloween that much, I do remember dressing up as a hockey player almost every time I went trick-or-treating.
